Belmond Barge Cruises

Belmond's luxury barges offer a slower, more intimate way to experience France. The Belmond Afloat in France fleet glides along quiet canals and rivers through Burgundy, Champagne and Provence, stopping at vineyards, village markets and châteaux along the way.

Each barge carries just 4 to 12 guests, with a private chef, guides and crew who know the region well. Days are unhurried: a morning bike ride along the towpath, a private wine tasting in the afternoon and a long dinner on deck as the sun goes down.

Our US-based advisors help you choose the right barge, region and dates, whether you want to book a single cabin or charter the entire boat for your family or friends.

Belmond Afloat in France

A week on a Belmond barge feels like staying at a private country house that changes its view every day.

Intimate Barges

Belmond operates seven barges, each with 2 to 6 en-suite cabins with king or twin beds.

Exceptional Food and Wine

All meals and drinks are included. A week on board features at least 15 regional wines and more than 20 French cheeses, alongside dinners by your onboard chef or at selected restaurants ashore.

Guided Excursions

Expert guides lead visits to wineries, villages and historic sites, all included in your fare.

Life on Board

Time to Unwind

Larger barges have heated pools and bicycles, so you can explore the countryside at your own pace.

Private Charters

Reserve a whole barge for a family celebration, a group of friends or a small wedding party. Two barges can also sail together for larger groups.

Seasonal Sailings

Cruises run from April to October, when the French countryside is at its best.
